"Any fool can know. The point is to understand."
-Albert Einstein
The New Common Core Standards emphasizes using evidence from texts to present careful analyses, well-defended claims, and clear information; they strive to highlight the growing complexity of the texts students must read in order to be ready for the demands of college, career, and life. Informational texts play an important part in building students’ content knowledge. Furthermore, it is vital for students to have extensive opportunities to build knowledge through texts so they can learn independently. -CommonCore.org
The goal of this website is to give parents and teachers a greater understanding of The Common Core Standards. In addition to a greater understanding, my hope is that you will find resources here to help your student, or students achieve a greater understanding of the English Language Arts via use of The Common Core Standards (CCS).
